A grocery store in Hell's Kitchen, it was owned by Signor Abbandando after he moved over from Sicily with his son Genco. The two ran the store alone until they took in immigrant worker Vito Corleone, who became good friends with Genco, even after he was moved from the shop at the behest of Massimo Fanucci, the local paisan, who wanted a position made available for his nephew Sandiago.
The store remained in Family hands when Genco left to work at the Genco Pura Olive Oil Company, going to Christopher Abbandando in the 1940s and maybe to Dominic Abbandando after Christopher's retirement.
