Al Martino was a singer/actor.

After serving at Iwo Jima in World War II, he commenced his singing career, starting with Here In My Heart, which received a number one status upon it's release.
He appeared as Johnny Fontane in The Godfather: Part I and later Part III, which sparked off an acting career as well.
To this day, Martino has achieved eleven top 40 hits in the U.S. charts, including Volare and Spanish Eyes, which have become household favorites.
He died on the thirteenth of October 2009, at the age of 82.
