Don Buccilla was the Mafia chieftain of the Sicilian town of Partinico. He was one of the leading Mafia bosses in Sicily in the 1940s.
Personality and traits[]
He often wore his opera peasant clothes despite the fact that he had become enormously wealthy. His ferocity was benign, but he could not abide dishonesty and executed thieves with the same righteousness as those eighteenth-century English High Justices proclaiming the death penalty on child pickpockets.
He was killed by Salvatore Giuliano and his band on the estate of Prince Ollorto.
Behind the scenes[]
- He was the only Don who did not appear in the film adaptation.
