Cuneo Crime Family

The Cuneo Family (1934-1979) is small operation ran out of Hell's Kitchen, they see themselves as noble 'warrior princes' and thus will not attack any other Family without just cause. On the other hand, if they are slighted, the Cuneos will attack with ruthless agression.

Their front company is a fleet of milk trucks that deliver across the city, which earns their Don, the nickname of 'The Milkman'. They also have a large cigar and weapons racket running out of their hub in Hell's Kitchen, managed by Enzo Cuneo.

In the 1940s, the Cuneo Family became involved with the Barzini Family against the Corleones in the Five Families War. Due to no official action being taken against their Family, the Cuneos did not take action against the Corleones until their secret racket at the West Port Warehouse. This moved them into action, and the war claimed several of their key members, before Vito Corleone called a hasty peace after the death of his underboss and son, Sonny.

After the War, the Cuneo Family began to return to a normal existence, peacefully negotiating the return of properties taken from them during the War. They did, however, suffer a major loss in business when, after a raid on the Manhattan Trust in Midtown, their laundering train was stopped in the railyards by Aldo Trapani, which lost them a major source of income.

In 1955, Don Cuneo himself was visiting the Family's matress hideout at the Savannah Hotel, which he hoped to gain back from proprietor Umberto Raffini. However, as he was leaving the building, Cuneo was trapped in the revolving door and killed by Corleone soldati Willie Cicci.

Cuneo was replaced as head of the Family by Leo Cuneo, who negotiated peace with the Corleones until his death at the hands of Joey Zasa in 1979.
