Dr. Taza was the uncle of Don Tommasino.
Biography[]
Dr. Taza harboured Michael Corleone in his villa, following his murder of Virgil Sollozzo and Captain McCluskey. He was known to pay his respects once a week to the prostitutes in Palermo. He asked Michael several times during his exile if he'd like to have the broken cheekbone he suffered at the hands of Captain McCluskey treated. Michael refused each time, willing to endure the pain and nasal issues that the injury caused, mainly because Taza had a reputation for being an inadequately skilled surgeon.
Behind the scenes[]
Dr. Taza was included as a character in the original screenplay for The Godfather, but was cut due to time constraints.
