The Meucci Association was a foundation that honoured Antonio Meucci, the Italian-American who invented the telephone. In 1979, they gave their Italian-American Man of the Year Award to Michael Corleone. Joey Zasa was the patron of their group and a longtime admirer of Meucci himself.
Behind the scenes[]
The Meucci Association is a reference to the Italian-American Civil Rights League, which was created and chaired by mobster Joe Colombo, on whom Joey Zasa is based.
