Born Louis Giovanni Russo in 1943, he received his role as Carlo Rizzi by acting as intermediary between Francis Ford Coppola and the Italian Anti-Defamation League, secretly controlled by Five Families Don, Joe Colombo. He later appeared in The Godfather: Part II in the final flashback scene.
Russo then went on to appear in several other moves, including Any Given Sunday and The Freshman, as well as releasing his own succesful album. On a darker note, he has also received a charge of justifiable homicide for shooting a mass murderer in self defence.
