Joe Spinell (born Joseph Spagnuolo) was an American actor who had an extnsive acting career following a character part as Willie Cicci in The Godfather, which he got whilst acting as a cab driver before being spotted by Francis Ford Coppola. He then appeared in numerous films, such as Rocky II, Maniac (which he also wrote) and The Godfather Part II.
Spinell was supposed to have been included in The Godfather Part III, but he died of a blood clot prior to filming. His role as Cicci was replaced by Joe Mantegna as Joey Zasa.
