Added by Sonny BlackLittle Italy is a neighborhood in lower Manhattan, New York City, once known for its large population of Italians.
In 1920, Vito Corleone, Peter Clemenza and Salvatore Tessio founded the Corleone crime family. It was run legitimately out of Genco Pura Olive Oil Company on Mott Street. The Corleone family remained in Little Italy until Don Vito died and his son Michael took control, moving his businesses to Nevada. Clemenza, however, remained here where he was allowed to start his own family. After Clemenza died, his family was passed on to Frank Pentangeli and later Joey Zasa, who was known for hosting his own street festivals in the neighborhood.
