Paolo Andolini was the elder son of Antonio Andolini and Signora Andolini and the brother of Vito Corleone.
Biography[]
A hot-headed boy and fiercely loyal to his father, Paolo was known to be adept with the Sicilian 'lupara' shotgun. He was also very close to his brother Vito, who he would play games with and tease about his silent nature.
After Antonio's death in 1901, Paolo swore a vendetta on the local Mafia chieftain, Don Ciccio, his father's murderer. However, Paolo was hunted down and shot by Don Ciccio's men, Mosca and Strollo, falling at his mother's feet during his father's funeral procession. His death prompted Signora Andolini to visit Don Ciccio and beg him to spare the life of her last child, Vito. Her pleas fell on deaf ears and she held a knife to Don Ciccio's throat to allow her son to escape, before she fell to Mosca's shotgun.
Paolo and his family were avenged in 1922, when Mosca, Strollo and Don Ciccio himself were slain by Vito.
Personality and traits[]
From the description in The Family Corleone, it can be seen that Paolo and Vito share a similar relationship to Vito's sons Sonny and Michael.
