Salvatore Corsitto was an Italian actor.
A Sicilian theatre actor, Salvatore Corsitto gained his only major film role as Amerigo Bonasera in The Godfather by responding to an open casting call for Italian actors. He was known to have considerably impressed Marlon Brando in the scenes they had together, as well as Francis Ford Coppola, who delighted that he had such a genuine Italian accent.
