Born in Sicily, Urzi moved to Rome in order to make his fortune. He met Pietro Germi and became the director's favourite actor, appearing in several ofhis films during the 1950s. He gained awards at the Cannes Film Festival after appearing in Seduced and Abandoned in 1964.
Saro Urzi died of a heart attack in 1979.
