The Stracci crime family (1934-1979) is one of New York's Five Families, operating in New Jersey. They are run by Don Victor Stracci. They were considered to be the most violent family. Corleone caporegime Peter Clemenza describes them as 'pure fuckin' evil'.

Business wise, the Straccis control an armada of highway repair trucks. They also had enough political influence to allow their trucks to travel overloaded, which damaged the highways, however, the Straccis also owned road repair businesses which had exclusive government contracts, leading one business to create work for another. Due to Don Stracci's old fashioned nature, they have little involvement in prostitiution, but due to their location, they have a small drugs racket. They also ran a hub in the rail yards of New Jersey, that was considered to be one of the most well defended businesses in New York.

The Straccis began as a Family in the late 1920s, shortly before the Pacification of New York by Vito Corleone. Victor Stracci and his brother Mario set up a legitimate business front in New Jersey, all the while pulling the strings and gradually gaining territory in New York. In the early days, they were assisted by the Alioto Family, who later lost their influence in New York after Don Alioto was executed by Luca Brasi But eventually gained it back after several shady deals orchestrated by the new Don Emilio 'Aces' Alioto.

In 1948, The Straccis fell on hard times when their caporegimes, consigliere and underboss were all assasinated by Corleone soldiers. This led them to retreat, eventually suing for peace in 1955. However, the peace was ill-fated, as Don Stracci was executed on the way to a negotiation and his Family fell into dissaray.

After Victor Stracci's death, the new Don sued for peace with the Corleone Family, a peace which was to last until his death in the Atlantic City helicopter attack orchestrated by Joey Zasa.
