In 1945 Toben Greenwood and Raphael Rulandi is forced to pay money to the Corleones.The most expensive hotel in Midtown, The Peak was run by Toben Greenwood, who was also a promising rookie for The Dodgers before falling into gambling debt and having his property seized by Moe Greene, who built a casino in the hotel basement. Greene also sent his Barzini associate, Raphael Rulandi to keep an eye on business.

For many years the hotel prospered, until a raid on the casino in 1945, which was followed shortly before the death of Moe Greene. Panicked, Rulandi and Greenwood both gave in to the Corleone family, who seized the property as their own.

Toben Greenwood was a promising "Rookie of the Year" with the Dodgers when he fell into a huge gambling debt and the harsh hand of Moe Green. Now, as the notional "manager" of the swankiest hotel in town, he simply bides his time.
