Known to be an incredibly well protected bar, The Roost was run by the Tattaglia family and managed by Vicente Tattaglia.
While the bar did not contain any rackets to prevent it from being raided by the police, it was known to be where the high-ranking family members met when they were out of Brooklyn.
In 1946, it was blown up by the Corleone family, who later took control of the bar after it was rebuilt soon after.
