Theresa Hagen was the wife of Tom Hagen and mother to his sons Andrew and Frank.

Biography

Coming from immigrant Italian stock, Theresa married Tom in the late 1930s and they were never divorced, despite Tom's affair with Judy Buchanan, although they were known to have had several near break-ups and tumultous arguments over Tom's business life. She was particularly close to her informal sister-in-law, Sandra Corleone. She was college educated, intelligent, and articulate.

When Tom was kidnapped by Virgil Sollozzo, Theresa stayed at the Corleone compound until his return. She bore him several children, Frank, Andrew, Gianna and a second daughter in 1954 and 1959 respectively.

In the 1960s, Theresa, became an art expert and helped found the Las Vegas Institute of Modern Art in the 1960's. When Judy Buchanan was murdered and Tom's affair was discovered, Theresa briefly moved away from him, taking their two daughters with her, but they eventually reconciled and she accompanied Tom on his visit to the Woltz mansion.

After Tom's death, Theresa became closer to her children and continued to appear at family venues, visiting Michael Corleone after he was given the Order of Saint Sebastian.

Personality and traits

A kind-hearted and gentle woman, Theresa rarely lost her temper, even when she discovered her husband's affair. However she never quite recovered from this experience and behaved bitterly towards Tom for sometime.
