The Tramonti crime family was a criminal organization that controlled much of the Southeastern part of the United States. It was led by Carlo Tramonti until his death in the 1960s.
They were one of the oldest crime organizations in the United States and were one of the families on the Commission. The Tramonti family was mostly involved in gambling and controlled a large part of the southern United States. In the 1940s they opened ties with Fulgencio Batista and invested in the pleasure resorts of Havana's casinos and whorehouses. They also owned one of the most luxurious hotels in Miami Beach.
In 1964, Carlo Tramonti organized the assassination of President James Shea. He was later found with two bullets in his head and a cleaver in his gut just before he was summoned to appear before a grand jury. The family was taken over by his younger brother and consigliere, Agostino Tramonti. A few years later, Agostino Tramonti died under suspicious circumstances shortly before he would appear in court to testify about the Shea assassination.
Agostino Tramonti was succeeded by Matty Parisi.
