Troy Donahue (born Merle Johnson Jr.) was an American actor and "hearthrob" who portrayed Merle Johnson in The Godfather Part II. He gained starring roles Rome Adventure and Distant Trumpet, where he met his future wife Suzanne Pleshette, who he later divorced.

He died of a heart attack at the age of 65 in 2001.
